Lost wax casting or investments casting produce a highly accurate and versatile end product with an outstanding finish. Investment casting convert’s molten metal in a single operation to precision engineered components with minimum wastage of material, energy and subsequent machining.

3Dimensional have been designing and manufacturing dies for lost wax tooling to be used for investment casting for many years. Our intimate knowledge of the process allows us to provide customers with advice regarding casting.

Accuracy and versatility come from the use of a one-piece die without a joint line or the need for draft angles. These features not only give rise to a component that is aesthetic and uniform but they also allow the process to give, on a regular basis, consistent and repetitive accurate tolerances, intricate and re-entrant contours and competitive cost ratios.

Casting integrity is an important feature of the process. Other advantages arise from the high degree of dimensional accuracy, +/- 0.10mm per 25mm and the excellent surface finish that can be routinely achieved, typically 1.5 - 3.2 microns.
